Emily Sharpe

From our very first COVID-era Teams call, I knew Emily Stone would become one of my dearest friends, someone who’d always play a major part in my life! From colleagues and friends to co-founders of Sharpe & Stone Events, our partnership is rooted in the love and joy of storytelling through celebration.

I grew up in Genesee County, Michigan, where the arts were my guiding light. A few early advocates saw my potential and encouraged me to give it space to grow. That encouragement led me to study Communications and Vocal Performance at the University of Michigan–Flint, where I discovered my love for arts administration and a deep appreciation for the behind-the-scenes work that makes a moment unforgettable.

Over the last decade, I’ve built my career in nonprofit organizations, including the Whiting Auditorium, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Ascension Health, Wayne State University School of Medicine, and the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance. My career has centered around my belief that the best experiences are built with care, creativity, and precision.

I’m drawn to the theatrics of events: the cueing of music, the scenery set in place, the perfectly timed entrance. I love designing experiences that feel layered and personal; from storytelling elements in the ceremony to thoughtful transitions, lighting shifts, and even a great costume change! With my passion for the way color bring out the best in people (and their photos), I’m excited to begin offering color analysis to help couples feel truly seen and celebrated

Events should feel like you, and we would be honored to help make sure every detail tells your story.

Now go find your team. Get to work. Whatever that work is that you find worth doing. Do it, and find some people to love who’ll do it with you.

What a joy it's been to build Sharpe & Stone Events with my best friend and creative partner! Emily and I first crossed paths in 2020 while working at Wayne State University in Detroit. We bonded quickly over our shared hustle, humor, and our mutual love for unforgettable experiences. What started as a friendship quickly became a dream partnership.

Raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, I grew up in a family where hosting and entertaining was second nature. I learned early on that the best events leave impressions that resonate. That passion led me to Mississippi State University, where I studied Communications and immersed myself in the world of sports and hospitality.

Since leaving Mississippi in 2019, I’ve built my career working with incredible organizations like Michigan Athletics, Detroit Pistons Sports & Entertainment, and the Wayne State School of Medicine. I've had the privilege of leading a range of events like high-profile donor experiences and national championship tailgates to fly-away trips, kids clinics, and large-scale alumni events. My work has taken me across the country, from Los Angeles to New York City.

I bring a love for floral and décor design, a flair for destination events, and a deep belief that every gathering should feel like a one-of-a-kind celebration. Whether it’s an intimate dinner party or a brand activation for thousands, I’m all about turning your vision into something unforgettable. Let’s create some magic together!
